Square Peg had the pleasure of being the headline sponsor of the North West Business Expo in October. The event was a huge success, thanks to the Made in Bury team.
The Square Peg team are proudly part of the Best of Bury community. The Best of Bury is an opportunity for like-minded business owners to support and engage with each other. It is one of the ways we network, support charity, complete CSR and keep up to date with recent news and events.
On 13th October, The Best of Bury and Made in Bury hosted the annual North West Business Fair. Square Peg are proud members of the community, so we offered to become headline sponsors of this incredible event. It was a great opportunity to support and increase awareness of the amazing businesses in the local area.
The expo was a success
The North West Business Expo managed by The Made in Bury team was another huge success. There were around 300 of delegates and 48 exhibitors.
Exhibitions are always a good opportunity to network, introduce people to our team and services as well as show our personalities. We always think of ways to stand out from the crowd and attract people to us. As Headline Sponsors, we knew Square Peg had to make an impression!
Our Director, Suzanne, took the opportunity to get creative with our prize giveaways.
Suzanne decorated and dressed up some floral pumpkins for a prize giveaway. We hosted a competition to win our fancy pumpkins or some bottles of bubbly. Participants had to guess the weight of a large pumpkin, it’s harder than you think!
The winners of our competition were:
- Richard Ernill from Munro Greenhalgh
- Pam Holt from Bury Business Lodge
- Adam Mahon from Mahon Web & Design
They weren’t the only winners though. Square Peg claimed some prizes at the expo too. Our Recruitment Consultant Ebony Alderson and Recruitment Resourcer, Mia Jackson, both triumphed in business card raffles! Thanks to WHN solicitors and Senior Waste Removals for their great prizes. The bottles of Champagne and Vodka were gladly received!
Celebrating ten years of Square Peg
We had some great celebrations that night! It was lovely to be surrounded by local businesses to celebrate ten years of Square Peg being in business!
There were so many familiar faces there, with whom it was great to reconnect with. We also had the pleasure of meeting new clients to welcome them onboard with Square Peg’s recruitment services.
The expo also allowed us to advise how we could add value to their recruitment process and extend our brand recognition. We took a total of three new vacancies and spoke to a few people who were looking for a change of career. The team were glad to help, and be part of more clients’ recruitment process and candidates’ dream job search.
Speed Networking
Our Recruitment Consultant, Olivia, took part in the ‘Speed Networking’ sessions that ran later that evening. This consisted of delivering 60-second pitches to 20 businesses.
Olivia says “I’ve never experienced doing anything like that before. If I’m honest, I felt pretty overwhelmed at first, though, once I got into the swing of things, it was really enjoyable. I was able to talk openly to other exhibitors and delegates confidently about my role at Square Peg and how we can help businesses to recruit the right people.”
Michael Fern, Owner and Principle Dentist from Brandlesholme Dentistry, said that Olivia was a credit to Square Peg. He highlighted that she is definitely passionate about what she does and spoke highly of the committed service that Square Peg Associates deliver.
Thank you Michael for your lovely comments!
